Text Box: 2007 was a great year for LiveGreen, looking back over the past year we accomplished some great milestones. Our first Earth Day, our first international order from our website, and making some great connections with other “green” companies to name just a few.
We would like to thank all our family and friends for their support over the last year.
Text Box: Today is January 1, 2008 have you come up with your New Year’s Resolution yet? Most people are going to go with one of the same resolutions they have used year after year, “this year I am going to stick to my diet”, “this year I am going to go to the gym” or, “this year I’m going to stop smoking.” Although these are all great New Year’s Resolutions what about a resolution to reduce your impact, or a resolution to recycle, or even a resolution to not buy bottled water.

LiveGreen Daily

Being “green” or environmentally conscious is all over the news, everything you watch or hear lately has something to do with “going green.”  We started our journey to being “green” five years ago, it has been a slow process, but we have almost changed everything in our lives to be “green.” This process is what made us start LiveGreen, there is so much information and so many “green” products out there, a lot of which work and a lot of which don’t.  We felt that people want to do things that are more earth friendly, but may not know where to start.

Our mantra is “Make small changes, don't try to do everything at once.  Small changes multiplied over time by many people makes a big difference.” When you decide to change something in your life to be “green” it is more likely to stick if you make it a habit.  Take using reusable shopping bags, just because you buy them doesn't mean you will use them, it has to become a habit to remember to bring the bags with you.  Whether you leave the bags in your car so they are always readily available or you put the bags next to your grocery store list, whatever your routine may be just add the bags.

Making small changes to your daily life can make a difference, if you trade out your cleaning products to use more environmentally friendly products, change your light bulbs out for CFL’s, buy organic food, if not organic think local.  Next time you’re at the grocery store and pick up an apple look to see if it says where that apple came from, Chile, Peru, Fiji, or was it grown in the U.S.A.? Stop to think how many miles that apple had to travel to be in your local grocery store, these are thoughts that can make a difference.  It will surprise you how this will become part of your shopping experience, and may change what you buy.

Did you know that Americans discard more than 60 million plastic bottle each day!  That is billions of plastic bottles a year. It takes up to 1,000 years for disposable water bottles to decompose.  Last year the average American used 167 bottles of water and only recycled 38!

Instead of just grabbing a bottle of water, purchase a reusable bottle and fill it from your house, keep it in the fridge and it’s ready to go.
